In the wake of COVID-19, LivBar donates organic, real food, low allergen bars to hospitals
PORTLAND, Ore. June 15, 2020
Since the outbreak of Covid-19 LivBar has been quietly donating bars to local hospitals.
“Since March we’ve been donating bars to a few hospitals around the country. It’s not much on a grand scale but it’s what we can do as growing brand to help,” said CEO Wade Brooks, “My neighbors work at Salem Hospital as nurses - it’s a scary situation for everyone.”
A few hospitals reached out to LivBar specifically hoping for real food fuel:
“My coworkers and I have been seeing coronavirus patients all day during our shifts. Because of the amount of protective equipment we’re wearing and how busy it has been, we’ve often only been able to take short quick breaks throughout the day, and have been gorging on mostly junk food. We were wondering if Liv Bars has thought of supporting healthcare workers on the frontlines with donations of your bars so that we can stay energized and healthy as we do our work.”
“We are working hard in the midst of the COVID-19 health crisis. Trying to calm patients' fears, who are worried and scared about their health, and their families' health, and their safety. We are doing the best we can getting our patients through this. It's hard trying to keep ourselves in check, too. Frayed nerves and stress eating. Doughnuts and egg mcmuffins aren't the most nutritious things to be putting in our bodies right now. I have eaten your LivBars.
